After many years of just taking photos, something fun turned into a passion for me. I began using a camera at age 10, and I have been documenting life ever since. Even something as simple as a leaf can become a work of art. Not only do I have life experiences with the camera, but I returned to school and received a degree in photography. I believe the two aspects, experience and education, compliment each other and have made me a better photographer and person. I have had the pleasure of having my photos displayed at several galleries and in August, 2006, two of my photographs were chosen in a Juried Exhibition sponsored by Best of Missouri Hands, and both were on display at William Woods University. I am a member of BOMH and also HBWE (Home-Based Women Entrepreneurs). I love when I am able to take my passion for photography and turn it into something unique and special. There is so much beauty in the world, and it can be found in something as simple as a tiny flower or in the pensive look in a person's eyes. Children especially are able to express true innocence and honesty and to capture that never-to-be-repeated moment in a photograph is truly a thrill. I hope my photos are never viewed as just a face, a flower or a mountain top. I want to be able to capture the beautiful gaze of a child, a sun-kissed mountain top covered with snow or a brilliant sun setting in the Western horizon and let you experience the emotions I see and feel. I was born and raised in St. Louis County, Missouri. I have a multicultural family, with children whom are homegrown & heart grown, that are very special to me. Add to that a 5 lb. dog name Chui (who thinks she is a Great DAne), a recent move from West County to Lonedell Missouri ("where IS that" they ask so often), fishing in my own lake for 5 lb bass, watching deer, pileated woodpeckers and turkey from my kitchen window. Life has always bee interesting and never boring. I am also a Registered Nurse. I have worn many hats in my lifetime. My motto - Try to use humor in all situations. It will carry you far and make the journey a little lighter. Life, as we have been given it, is not filled with problems, but just situations. I thank the people of Jamaica for teaching me that philosophy. So, here's to life and what it holds for all of us! Acadia Photography
