Alicia Farris is an award-winning artist who works primarily in watercolor and acrylic. She strives to express her passion for color and for the beauty of nature in her paintings. Having always enjoyed art, painting has become a huge part of her life. "It's a tremendous feeling that it has taken hold of me and won't let go. Everything I see is a painting." While her work has qualities of realism, she is often more driven by the use of color and light than strictly by form. Her subjects include the beauty of of the Ozarks, places that she's visited, and anything that inspires her for any reason. Alicia's commission work has included portraits of peoples' homes, businesses, pets or favorite places. She feels that true artists not only look at the world around them, but also are able to convey the personality, spirit, and emotion of what they see. Alicia received her bachelor's degree from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and has studied with various renowned artists as George Kautoupis, Marilynn Bradley, Joseph Fettingis and John Fitsgibbon. Alicia is currently a member of Springfield REgional ARts Council, Springfield Visual ARts Alliance, Missouri Watercolor Society, signature member of St. Louis Watercolor Society, Springfield Plien Air, Best of Missouri Hands and Watercolor USA. Her work is part of nationwide personal and corporate collections. Alicia Farris
