I started making pottery in 1996. Our family went on a trip to Silver Dollar City and I went into the pottery shop and couldn't tear myself away. I started asking the potter questions about pottery and about where I could get a wheel. He told me the name of a business and gave me the phone number. About a month later I owned a wheel. I have mainly taught myself, but have taken some classes from a local master potter, David Porter. I have attended a Steven Hill week long workshop and a Cynthia Bringle week long workshop. I make functional and fine craft pottery and mix my own glazes. My husband and I have built a workshop beside our home to accommodate all of the equipment I have acquired. This hobby has become an obsession. I work a full time job and make pottery whenever I can. I try to do about four art shows a year, sell locally at a few retail gift shops, and sell from my home. It is my heartfelt desire to make pottery my full time job. But that will come after my children are out of college. Crowley Ridge Pottery
