Woven functional pieces that will last for years

The Artist

Jan Rode, a native Missourian, has become an accomplished award winning fiber artist. In 1984 Jan bought her first spinning wheel and in 1985 her first loom. Jan has grown, expanded her knowledge of this great and ancient art, to accommodate five more spinning wheels and eight looms.

Jan is a self taught and highly creative artist who develops and hones her skills though conferences and fiber classes held all over the United States. With this knowledge and determination she has and continues to design many beautiful one of a kind works of art.

In weaving every thread must be handled individually. Jan takes exceptional pride in knowing every piece was created one thread at a time. This patience and prestige creates the perfect shawl, scarf, etc. or the most exquisite rug, table runner, in any room which will last for years of enjoyment.

Jan is a member of The Best of Missouri Hands and a Silver Dollar Master Craftsman. Jan’s work is also featured at The Hudson House, 119 W. Main, Washington, MO.

Jan travels throughout the Midwest doing numerous art shows.
