Beads are the earliest known man-made glass objects. Modern Lampwork Beads are made by hand, using a torch generating temperatures up to 2000° F, metal mandrels, and different forms of glass. Merging the art and science of glass is a wonderful creative experience for the bead artist. I discovered the Art of Glass with my first lampwork bead class at Craft Alliance. I have studied with internationally known bead artists Corina Tettinger, James Smircich and Dustin Tabor, and continue to study with many local artists, including Leslie Leipziger of Glasshopper Studio. Using a variety of lamp working techniques, I blend colored glasses and precious metals, and shape the molten mass into unique beads. I then design and create jewelry, focusing on my beads and integrating wire sculpture. My pieces are available directly from me and can be seen at three to four art shows throughout the year Klose to Classic
