Sandra has added rodeo and western art to her life as an artist. She has a new passion after finding the sport of Bird Dog Hunting when she attended a championship bird dog hunt. She says that she “was a goner” after one day watching these gorgeous dogs and their handlers. She was commissioned by the club to paint the dog of the year “Two Face Kate” after they saw Sandra’s paintings. She has painted all dogs for years, but says “there is something very special about these dogs.” Sandra is mostly a self-taught artist with a passion for watercolor painting. She had a great start at the Riverside Art Museum under the teaching of Mary Barrie taking figure drawing and watercolor classes. After her retirement from the school district and moving to Missouri she was able to concentrate on her art full time, always encouraged by her family.
