Stonehenge Pottery Company Ron Aubuchon - Clay Artist In 1991, I closed the doors of The Stonehenge Pottery Company and traded the silica chips for silicon chips opening a computer store. Though the establishing and growing a new business was challenging, invigorating and rewarding, the 'hummmmm' of the wheel called me back. In 1997 I returned to pottery on a part time basis focusing more on the individual piece and the qualities of clay. During this time I began experimenting with Raku and Smoke ware and the unique qualities they lend to producing a truly, 'one-of-a-kind' original piece. I retired from the computer business in August 2004, and am now devoting my energies to my first love pottery! My present work consists of contemporary pieces of art using Raku and Smoke ware techniques. My traditional stoneware pieces however are produced as functional and utilitarian as I strongly feel that "the beauty of the piece lies in its use!" I'm also teaching this wonderful art form to others through classes and work shops in my studio. My work is currently sold in several Missouri galleries and can be seen and viewed on my web site at www.stonehengepottery.com. The Stonehenge Pottery Company
