I have only been turning since 2005 and enjoy turning many things on a Lathe. This is when a client and very good friend helped me turn my first wine bottle stop. I was convinced that this was something I wanted to do and took my first class here in St. Louis. I have since studied under some of the best wood turners in the world and travel to different symposiums across the country learning different techniques and collecting wood. Now I can spend hours at a time turning the things you see in front of you. People are always asking me "what type of wood do you like?" My reply is "rotten wood." Most of us see this as discarded or fire wood. However, I like to see it as my way of recycling. Taking something that is going back to nature and making something useful. Please enjoy the items at the right and see if you can tell what kind of tree or bush it came from. Wood by Arnold
