The beauty of silver and glass

 

 

Barbara Otterson is a multi-faceted artist who works in metal and glass. She received her art training at Mission: Renaissance in Hollywood, CA; Craft Alliance in St. Louis, MO; and Meramec Community College, St. Louis, MO.

The primary focus of her work is unique goblets, vases and fine objects utilizing sterling silver, torchworked and slumped glass and gemstones. Her line extends to unusual and evocative jewelry.

Her work has been displayed in such venues as the Liturgical Society's Contemporary Works of Faith show, Columbus, OH, 1999; and the St. Louis Artists Guild annual sculpture and fine crafts exhibit in 1997, 1998, and 1999. She is currently represented by Componere Gallery in University City, MO.

Most recently, Barbara has been selected to create a tea cup for this year's annual Celestial Seasonings show. Other honors she has received include:

  • Award of Excellence - Missouri Spring Festival of Art, April 1999
  • Paul Pattengale Annual Memorial Prize - St. Louis Artist's Guild, February 1998
  • First Place, Jewelry - Lincoln Arts Festival, Lincoln, IL, 1994
